A few pictures from Utah.

This was the girls on the way home...they were exhausted to say the least. We had a great time in Canyonlands, Arches, Moab and Orem!

Nali's First Triathlon

So last year after I did one of my triathlons Nali told me that she wanted to do one. I told her sure...she needs to work on her swimming and learn how to ride a two wheeler...she accepted the challenge. We registered her for the Vulcan Tinman Triathlon in the Tinbit category. She had to swim 25 metres, bike 800 metre's and run 200 metre's.
The day of the Triathlon was NASTY...it was about 1-3 degrees celsius...32 degrees Farenheit. A mix of snow/hail/sleet/sunshine...keep in mind it was June 6th...
Here's Nali at the start of the swim! She was SO excited...most of the kids in her heat wore life jackets. They started them out in the deep end.
She started off really strong...
And was SO excited!

But about 3 metre's from the end she started to struggle...BAD! Her head bobbed under a few times...Sam and I were worried and both comtemplated jumping in...the life guard threw her a flutter board...she reached for it but reach it... she kind of got it together and finished the last few feet. I pulled her out and just kept telling how great she did...she was quite shaken up.

We quickly dried her off and got her dressed and off she went on the bike ride!

Her bike ride was uneventful thank goodness.

She quickly jumped off and dashed to the finish! She was running so fast I wasn't able to catch up with her to get a good picture!
All the kids got a medal at the end of the race! Nali was SO happy...Here she is running into Sam at the finish! We were so proud of her! Sam was crying!

MY FIRST Mountain Bike Race (and Maybe Last)

So first off, I've always wanted to do a mountian bike race...lets just say it's on the bucket list. Well there was one in town that I signed up for. I thought "Hey, I'm in pretty good shape and I love Mountain Biking....I can do this." So here we are at the start. I was in the first line to go with the novice/sport women catergory...lets just say one of these things is not like the other. These women were machines. They were Super nice and supportive and said that I was "Brave" for doing it...like that's not intimidating. These people wear spandex not to be fast....but because they ARE fast. All in all it was a great learning experience...would I do it again...maybe...

Climbing...

more climbing....

Spent at the finish...

The one injury. I wiped out in a bunch of cactus's. I had about a 100 needles in my leg. 4 hours in the ER room and a tetanus shot later.....4 days later I'm still digging needles out!

She also LOVED her tea set from Papa Lloyd.

She likes to pose for pictures as well. She was trying to pose with her friend Isla!

Every Thursday for 5 weeks Nali's kindergarten class went skating. I was lucky enough to go with her on these mornings! She had a great time!
In January we took Nali to her first Flames game! She LOVED it! When we walked in she was giggling! She couldn't wait to get to her seat! Flames won as well!
We went to the game with my younger brother.
